For a liquid crystal alignment film
This alignment film does not require friction, and can reduce the processing procedures and dust that may be brought in due to friction. However, not all of the polyimide LB films are oriented to the liquid crystal. Generally, the greater the rigidity of the macromolecular chain, the better the orientation. Interestingly, polyimide LB film in the pyrolysis process can still maintain the order of macromolecules. For example, after pyrolysis at 1000 ℃, the LB film is transformed into graphite microcrystals. Both of the orientation and conductivity, so there is hope that the alignment film and the electrode as a unified material. But in general the polyimide LB film orientation effect is not ideal, it has not been practical.
